We’re chuffed to bits that Warp’s very respectable online store, Bleep have included Auntie Flo‘s debut Future Rhythm Machine in their 2012 mid-year round up.

Joining the excellent and hyped offerings from Actress, John Talabot, Grimes, Laurel Halo and Squarepusher to name a few. To say we’re both incredibly flattered and honoured is a bit of an understatement.

You can check out the full list here: Bleep 2012 mid-year round up.

Future Rhythm Machine is now available on all formats, from all good record shops – including the likes of HMV, etc.

We strongly suggest you invest.

Just as the sunshine finally arrives, we’re very pleased to announce that Auntie Flo‘s delightful debut album, Future Rhythm Machine is now available to one and all. We think it’s one of the best things we’ve heard in a very long time – in fact it was the whole reason behind us starting the H&P label, after hearing an earlier incarnation nearly 2 years ago! Since then, we’ve recruited the talents of sultry Chilean, Mamacita and the spritely South African, Esa (the fastest bongo player in Scotland).

Having listened to it more than anyone else has at this present moment in time, we still feel the same way and expect to do so for an even longer time to come.

But then we would say that.

Here’s what others have had to say so far:

“gorgeous… it’s bound to tickle your pleasure centers, strike you dumb and move your feet all at the same time.” 4/5 - Resident Advisor
Love it all. ‘La Samaria’ is so beautiful. It should be a hit single in a just world. 10/10.” - JD Twitch, Optimo
5/5 - Joe MuggsQ Magazine
17/20 - Crack Magazine

Plus early approval and recommendations from the likes of MixmagJunoBoomkat and Bleep amongst others.

You can now buy Future Rhythm Machine from your local record or download emporium of choice now and we hope you enjoy listening to it at home, in the club or on the move as much as we do. Invest your wages wisely!

Future Rhythm Machine drops this May. The title is a reference to the British-Ghanian writer Kodwo Eshun, who “disputes the western futurist pre-occupation with noise in favour of rhythm.” He continues: “it is the rhythm machine which joins the dots between all music of the black Atlantic from afrobeat and highlife to techno, soul and hip-hop… I have always been drawn to the rhythm or groove of any piece of music, much more so than lyrical content for example. When I listen to African music I hear new rhythms, new possibilities and a glimpse into another world.”

Future Rhythm Machine clocks in at just over 30 minutes, and features all new productions. Guest appearances come in the form of Chilean Mamacita, Esa and Sensu.
