Ahead of our fifth birthday celebrations at Corsica Studios, we’re thoroughly looking forward to invite a stellar cast of past guests and future heroes. One of which is Cologne DJ, Lena Wilikens. Lena is a resident at Dusseldorf’s wonderful Salon Des Amateurs venue and regularly books and plays alongside most of our favourite DJ’s and artists. Her mixes are something to behold, look no further than her shows on Cómeme Radio. She has kindly put together a mix to give you an idea of what to expect – lots of good shit.

Our next (and final) party at Plastic People is a very special occasion. Welcoming the superb husband and wife duo, Saschienne (Sascha Funke + new bride Julienne), whose Unknown album on Kompakt is one of the best pieces of music we’ve heard this year. Our latest podcast comes from our man in Athens, Fantastikoi Hxoi. Translated as ‘Imaginary Sounds’, FH first came to our attention several years ago with some amazing edits of obscure Greek pop, rock and folk tunes, among other global music.

Using samples from classic or totally forgotten tracks, FH creates a peculiar retro-futuristic sound through complete reconstruction or a drastic re-edit. 2008’s ‘Masters Of The Universe‘ 2LP (self-released and available for free at fantastikoihxoi.blogspot.com) has amassed plenty of fans with over 15,000 downloads. The follow-up is expected to be released from the Inner Ear label in the coming months.

We’ve been big fans of Bostro Pesopeo’s production work for sometime now. Releasing the brilliant Anantes on Permanent Vacation – a track which still gets regular airing at H&P, followed by some recent and equally as excellent work with the Hivern Disc / John Talabot affiliated Pional.

We asked him to put together this mix for the podcast and with Zomby sitting alongside It’s A Fine Line, we have not been disappointed, a man after our own heart! Watch out for him at a forthcoming H&P soon.
